Collection: Kothar

The memories of our Nana-Nani and their Kothar are etched in our hearts like the flavours of a treasured meal. A reminder of the connection between our past, our culture, and the enduring beauty of the Pahadi way of life.

Kothar is the Jaunsari word for a pantry. Through generations, with its humble mud walls and a petite entryway, blending seamlessly with the landscape, Kothar safeguarded a world of gastronomic treasures, each provision attended with care like it were an ode to the land's bounty and the wisdom of generations.

A variety of lentils (dal), rice, spices, dry fruits, and other provisions were stored meticulously in the Kothar to sustain the family and generations of them. Kothar isn't merely a storage space; it is a testament to the resourcefulness of mountain communities and their harmonious coexistence with nature. Poit from Hills' Kothar is a tribute to the sustainable practices that have sustained our people for centuries.

Come join us in discovering the Kothar, where every provision is a page in the story of our Pahadi past!
